Takahashi FCT-65D F/6.2 Fluorite Triplet Apo Refractor Telescope
The newly released “FCT-65D" revives Takahashi’s famous FCT optical system with modern optical technology and makes the FCT-65D a robust and compact 1.9 kg telescope designed for modern digital astrophotography.
The features of the FCT, which produce extremely sharp images free of central aberrations, are a convenient advantage for modern digital astronomical cameras.
By further evolving this characteristic, it boasts a bright field and nearly perfect central image. The FCT-65D has a Strehl ratio of approximately 98%, with a 65 mm aperture and 400 mm focal length at F/6.2.
Furthermore, when using the ultra-high performance dedicated 65D FU Reducer 0.65X with modern optical technology not available 40 years ago, the FCT-65D becomes a 260 mm F/4 astrograph providing overwhelming performance, with an RMS radius of approximately 2 microns from the centre to the periphery of the full frame, and peripheral illumination of approximately 70% or more. Please understand the focuser flange is the thickest on the body exterior ( 95mm) to accommodate the 65D FU Reducer 0.65X.
