Primaluce Lab Side by Side Losmandy Plate - Dual Platform - 495mm PLUS with MAXI Dovetail Clamps - These side-by-side plates allow you to install two telescopes in parallel on the same mount and they are thus useful for both photographic and visual applications. Using these side-by-side plates it's also possible, for example, to install a camera (like a DSLR) in parallel to the main telescope to take a picture of the sky through its own lens.
Thanks to its particular design, this Side by Side Losmandy plate 495mm PLUS can be used:
- in photographic applications where it is necessary to install two telescopes on the same mount: for example, you can install a primary imaging telescope and one for guiding; or a camera (like a DSLR) that takes the pictures through its lens and a guide telescope.
- for visual applications where it is useful on for the specific use, to install two telescopes in parallel.
- This plate can be connected to all mounts with an Losmandy-style (or Celestron CGEM) clamp and the two terminals (clamps) are spaced (centre to centre) at 455mm. These dual terminals/clamps are compatible with both Vixen and Losmandy plates (dovetail bars).
The Side by Side Losmandy plate 495mm PLUS is part of our system PLUS (Prima Luce Universal System) which includes a large variety of support rings, plates, guide rings and dovetail clamps to offer you the maximum freedom to build your mechanical system of support, depending on the application that you want to achieve. Indeed, all the PLUS elements have threaded holes, holes and slots suitable for connecting elements, always with maximum rigidity and comfort.
For this application, we designed many elements, including this Side by Side Losmandy plate 495mm PLUS. Each component of the PLUS system is made of aluminum blocks that are high precision CNC machined. The aluminum is then sandblasted to achieve a very smooth surface finish and is anodized (hard anodizing) to increase the hardness of the material and protect it from oxidation.
If you have mechanical accessories of other brands, you can still use all the elements of the PLUS system. Indeed we have provided a series of central slots that allow, for example, to fix on these support rings a plate or guide rings with a screw.
