KEEPING YOUR EQUIPMENT DRY
• DUNEDRY can dehumidify small and confined spaces.
• Place the DUNEDRY in the equipment bag/case after your observation night or when storing your instruments. When
placing it in the bag or suitcase, please make sure to securely fix the DUNEDRY moisture absorber to allow minimal
movement. This effectively prevents uncontrolled movements and potential surface damage to the equipment.
• DUNEDRY will absorb moisture and keep the humidity in your bag/case low. This prevents damage from rust or mould.
• The capacity to absorb moisture varies with humidity and temperature.
COLOR INDICATOR
• The indicator on the protective frame of the DUNEDRY can display two colours:
White -> dry, ready for use
Blue -> fully saturated, please renew
• The colour indicator will slowly turn blue while moisture is absorbed. This can take up to 1 month, depending on your
usage.
• If the indicator is blue, renew DUNEDRY before usage.
• The indicator is based on a chemical reaction inside the Dunedry. Drying is only recommended when the indicator is
completely blue in colour. If isolated blue dots appear on the indicator, drying is not yet necessary.
• In order not to damage the nanoporous material by premature drying, it is important to dry the stone only after a
certain moisture saturation. To be sure of this, you can weigh the Dunedry when dry, e.g. after purchase (without cover).
After use, weigh it again. If it now weighs at least 20% more than its original dry weight, you can dry it. Otherwise it will
continue to absorb moisture and should definitely be used without drying.
